Grilled Italian Avocados Recipe

Ingredients: Serves 4

2 ripe avocados, sliced
120 ml/4 fl oz/0.5 cup passata (sieved tomatoes)
5 ml/1 tsp dried basil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

100 g/4 oz Mozzarella cheese, sliced

Method:

Put the avocado slices in four shallow individual ovenproof dishes. Spoon the passata over. Sprinkle with basil, salt and pepper. Top with the cheese. Grill (broil) under a moderate grill (broiler) until the cheese melts and bubbles and the avocados are warm. Do not overcook or the cheese will become rubbery and the avocados hitter. Serve straight away.
